Abducted by Aliens

Many years ago in either Carver Barracks in Wimbish Essex or Birdwood Barracks in Herford Germany, a Trooper by the name Tpr Gilbert (9/12L) was late on parade (in fact forget late, just never turned up!) When he finally arrived in barracks, he was called up on a charge for Failing To Attend a Parade etc. Stood in front of the OC, Gilbert was asked do you have any reasonable excuse? Gilbert straight faced and very Sober replies " Yes sir, I was abducted by aliens!".....7 days ROPs I think was the OCs’ reply.
