Paralimni Poem

The time has come, the British said,
To speak of proper searches,
We'll herald them with pipe and flute'
And announce them from the churches.

We'll play it all the British way,
 For it is'nt really cricket,
To be so beastly to the boys,
Who are on a sticky wicket

Bring out the bagpipes and the drums,
Give a flourish of the trumpets,
We'll pass out proper questionaires,
Then we'll all have tea and crumpets

Oh we British are so mannerly
We've put away the birch,
So lets off to Paralimni boys,
 With a hey nonny no
To the search
