This is a short story about my firsf day in belfast in 1971. Myself and a old Cpl were going towards the cookhouse in Springfield Road police station when we heard the sound of rapid gunfire from outside the station.
This was followed by the sound of a armoured car screaming into the yard. When we got there the driver was standing by his vehicle that had stitch marks from the bullits right up the side. I was that shocked I could not speak. The old Cpl said check that mans underpants!
