 I would like to get in touch with anyone who remembers me. Particularly Ray Macintosh from Newcastle, Jim Wilcox from Workington,
Ray (Sid) Hooper from Epsom and Bernard Mussell who was from Dorking or Dorchester, I am not quite sure which.
During 2 years plus, I received a daily paper from home for every day of the week, never missed, and never at any time did I see any reports of incidents, killings etc. in that newspaper.  None of us were ever told by our military superiors of incidents any where in the Zone.  This was a disgraceful cover up. I would love to hear from anyone who remembers me. I worked first in the Movements (transit) Section and then in Station Headquarters.

 In October 1951 we were flown from Tripoli to Tel el Kebir. As the advance party of the first Guards Brigade, to the first infantry Division. The white triangle. For
the next two and half years we were on active service, throughout the Canal Zone. Even patroling the Gaza strip from Aqabah, where we had a base. We had
comrades who were killed and they are buried in Fayid cemetry. Within my Battalion were men who had fought in the L.R.D.G.  Had been on active service from
1939, formed the Guards Ind parachute company, the Pathfinders. Launched with other members of Brigade of  Guards The S.A.S. MEDALS GALOR. Yet even they were suprised that no medal was available for service in the zone.

Added Mar 06 2002 : We were transfered from Tripoli, in Oct 1951, and for the next three years I served all over Egypt, seeing plenty of action, and loosing a
few comrades who are now in Fayidcemetry. We were never given any recognition for our many problems with the new, at that time fundermentalist Muslim terrorist, and look at the problems they are causing today.
