 Have tried for years to find at least one person that served in my battalion. I was in from Jan 3, 1952 to Nov. 1955.......from Caterham to Pirbright to Yorkshire Moors to Canal Zone via Malta, Cyprus,   HMS  'Hallerdale' to Liverpool after a leave back to Wellington Baracks in good old Windsor, Berks.....(home to the 1st.)

 Nov 1954. Flew to RAF Fayid via RAF Luqa (Malta) for refuelling by Avro York.  Having got settled in my tent at El Hamra, got to work on the tyre ramp (which
the new drivers had to get used to the sun and sand).  Had various detachments to RAF Movements Unit Port Said, 128MU Abu Sultan (for closing the unit),
RAF Abyad. Convoy to RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus via Port Said and Farmagusta on LST Charles Macleod.  As the Canal Zone gradually ceased to exist (military wise),
I was posted to MT Section RAF Nicosia in April 1956 whilst awaiting HMT Empire Orwell to bring me home for demob in August 1956.  Happy days.
