The crew room and control tower at Salalah in 1968. Under the wire on the left was a concrete plinth with the old Imperial Airways "Speedbird" insignia later adopted by British Overseas Airways Corporation. Salalah was one of the original staging posts for the Vicker's Vimy open cockpit bombers converted after WWI for civilian use and travelling to destinations in Africa and India.
