The coming of the Skyvan
was to change our ability to re-supply the ground forces. It's ability
to carry about 4000lbs into strips previously available only to the Beavers,
and especially water, was to advance dramatically the capabilities of the
soldiers on the ground. It's flat floor made it a significantly more useful
vehicle for casualty evacuation and stretcher carrying.
