AGM Weekend November 2003
Ladies Weekend 2004
This years Ladies Weekend will be held at the Warners Hotel ( Nidd Hall ) which is situated just outside Harrogate in Yorkshire.

February 2003

The late but very enjoyable AGM weekend for 2002 took place on Saturday 1st February 2003.  Although the Eastern side of the country had blizzards the night before, the turnout was good and as usual all arrived with smiling faces and ready for   a good time. The Mess opened for the Friday and Saturday nights so for some this was a double reunion, plenty to drink and certainly no shortage of conversation or jokes.
The accommodation was much improved on last year with central heating working and good draft free rooms but we were all amazed to see ALL washbasins with plugs fitted. We assumed this must be some new strategy and decided not to ask questions.

The AGM went very smoothly and four new members were introduced these being:-
John Bishop,  Dickie Hudd,   Brian Blackmore  and Tony Blake.

The people who spend the time and effort  running the Group were all voted back into office and they must know that their work is appreciated by one and all.

However the latter part of the meeting stalled a little when once again the suggestion of  people attending who didn't  jump at El Gamil. Let's hope this one is settled once and for all at the next AGM.

The dinner was excellent and this was appreciated by passing the cap round for all who made the effort. In fact all meals were good and a hearty breakfast sets you up for the trip back home.

Roll on the next one.

As mentioned in the previous newsletter, it would really be appreciated if members sent their subs (£12) before the AGM. This would give Bruce (Treasurer) that extra time to enjoy  the get together like the rest of us certainly manage to do.

You may have noticed more people are using the internet, this is sometimes not accepted by some people as they incorrectly think it is above them. Not so ! At least three members have made contact and it all started with their Grand Children using computers. They soon acquired an email address and Hey Presto
It's contact time.
