In Memory of my father 2224 9307 Pte Ian William Hunter  served with the Essex Rgt, 3rd Battalion Parachute Regt and 22 SAS B Squadron, 7 Troop in Malaya. 

Oct 1928 - Dec 1999. May he rest in peace.

2nd Battalion Royal Scots 
I would like my Grandad, Corporal Jack Butterworth 3054173, 2nd Battalion Royal Scots to be remembered on this page. He took part in the Defence of Hong Kong in December 1941 and survived the sinking of the Lisbon Maru. He went on to serve in the Korean War, where he was lost in action in 1952. His son Michael (my Dad) was only 4 when he lost him. I never knew you Grandad, but I want you to know that I think of you often and am very proud of you.

Badly wounded during fighting at Pyongyang North Korea 22nd October 1950 Ron passed away 30th December 2000 On the Isle Of Arran After long illness partly due to his injuries.

“B” Company Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders 
Wounded during the Battle for Hill 282. Korea, 23rd September 1950 During the battle they came under heavy air attack  by US aircraft dropping napalm & bombs on their positions “A case of friendly fire” He was awarded the US Bronze Star for Gallantry  during this action.

Joe passed away peacefully at home, at 11am, on the 11th November 2003

I would like to enter the name of Lieutenant-General Sir John Watts K.B.E.  C.B.  M.C. to your memorial page.

Sir John died in December 2003 at the age of 73, he was a member of the Royal Ulster Rifles and the S.A.S, He was the epitome of an "Officer and a Gentleman" his men always came first. He was well known for his exploits in the Dhofar operations and was my Company Commander for a while in Cyprus in 1958. He will be sadly missed will "Johnnie"

In memory of our Dad Edward Lilley, he died of Altzheimers disease last June, he had been in the Black Watch and put into the Argylls when he was sent To korea, he had served in Palestine, Hong Kong and India, He was on hill 282 in korea, and lost many friends, he began to talk about what happened there before he began to get ill.His name was Edward (Ted) Lilley he was born on 24 th may 1928. He was in B company who where hit with" friendly fire" and he suffered shrapnel in his legs . I am his youngest daughter and a teacher ,I will always make my pupils aware of the sacfifice and debt that they owe to my dad and all men and women who gave their lives for our freedom.

In Memory of Driver Robert (Bob) Body 
 138 Air Supply Platoon, 47 Coy RASC Air Despatch
May I record the passing of one of my lads in Cyprus in 1958.

Driver Robert (Bob) Body was a member of   138 Air Supply Platoon, 47 Coy RASC Air Despatch who was accidently killed when his Sten Gun accidently discharged whilst carrying out escort duties in the Limmassol area.  He was the only married man in the Platoon!  He is buried at Waynes Keep Cemetery near Nicosia.

 Royal Hampshire Regiment
Brigadier Viner died on the 14th of October, 2005, in hospital in London, aged 87. He served during the Second World War in Europe, where he received the M.C. and bar. Later serving in Egypt, Canada and Aden (with the Aden Protectorate Levies and the renamed Federal Regular Army.)
