Contributed by Brian Shajari Perhaps some of you ex Marines out there can tell us more about this jacket Peter |
Hi
Peter, That Jacket on display, looks more like the No 1 Dress (blues) Minus
the Staybrite Buttons, and the Royal Marine Commando Flash was never worn
on Blues, No 2 Dress was Lovat Greens still no RM Commando flashes worn
with
this
dress, the red and blue Commando flash would be worn on woolly pullover,
with a khaki commando flash worn on DP Clothing, that dress jacket you
have there looks more like the jacket worn by the old type gunnery rates,
if that is a No 1 Blue Jacket it must be one that was sold in Military
Surplus Clothing shop before being sold they were stripped of buttons carrying
the Globe and Laurel crest. Hope this will clear up some misunderstanding.
Cheers
