African Adventures Gordon Mumford's book "Men Whose Job Took Them to the Mountaintops" is the story of the survey and construction of the VHF radio-repeater telecommunications route in East Africa (1951-54). The book includes details of Mau Mau attacks on repeater sites and the emergency farm VHF radio project, a combined effort by EAP&T and the Kenya Regiment. See East African Books & Writing.
