The Battle of Dien Bien Phu Dien Bien Phu was located at the junction of several routes to North Vietnam and Laos. The village served as a military out post for North Vietnam. The Battle of Dien Bien Phu ended the 8 year war between the French and the Vietnamese. not British history but very interesting.
