The "D" Daring Class Destroyer Squadron/Flotilla  Association is for both types of the "D" classes , H M Ships DUNCAN, DAINTY, DARING, DECOY, DEFENDER, DELIGHT, DIAMOND, DIANA, DUCHESS,all these pre world war two and H M Ships DARING, DANITY, DEFENDER, DELIGHT, DUCHESS, DIAMOND, And DECOY all post war ships . These destroyers have participated in the Naval Assault upon Port Said 6 November 1956

The Suez Crisis and the British Empire (July 1956)  One of the signal events for the dissolution of the British Empire after the conclusion of the Second World War took place in 1956, in what is known in the West as the "Suez Crisis." Precipitated on July 26, 1956, when the Egyptian president, Gamal Abdel Nasser, nationalized the Suez Canal.
