Eric ( Pony } Moore Home page Eric is an  ex Royal Marine.  He was in Palestine for the withdrawal of the British force while in 45 Commando RM in Haifa on the the 15th May 1948, " I as far as I know was the 2nd to last British serviceman to leave " , His Colonel , Colonel Palmer was the last to leave Palestine . He served in Malaya , with 45 Cdo RM , and served in Cyprus for three tours from 1955 in 45 Cdo RM , Eric was also serving in 45 Cdo RM when they landed in Port Said on 6th Nov 1956 . Eric  now lives in New Zealand , after retiring from the Royal Marines in Nov 1971 after 24 years 9 months .
